The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: William Davis 4th Arkansas Cav

Well, I have searched and searched and I can't find he and his family in 1860 or 1870 census. They are listed on the 1880 census for Woodruff Co over in eastern Arkansas. Andrew and Winnie live at home and George lives next door with family. As I stated, on his pension document that is dated 1890 it shows him as being dead already so he died sometime between 1880-90. On his service record it states somone requested documentation in 1885 (probably for a pension) since he lost his discharge. Other than that, I can't prove much of anything else at this time. WHere do you find him in 1860 and 1870? I have looked in numerous counties and yet to find the family.
