I'm trying to find out some information on William Davis, who served in Co. M, 4th Arkansas Cavalry (USA). He also served in the Mexican War when he lived in TN. His records on Fold3 state that he was born in McMinn County, TN. I'm hoping someone can find more information about him in the official records or some other source. My GG Grandfather was named William Davis, and of all the men who served in Arkansas with that name, this one in the 4th Cavalry comes closest (so far) to fitting what I know about my ancestor. However, I haven't seen his pension file or any records other than the muster roll cards, so don't know if this is my ancestor or not. My ancestor was born in TN and married a woman named Elizabeth (Bennett?) and they moved to Arkansas around 1856. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance. Allen
