D. Holly, Private, Company E, 38th Arkansas Infantry Regiment, enlisted July 8, 1862 at Pochhuntus, Ark. by Capt. Deshoar for the war, his presence at the next muster is "not stated," he then must have been dropped from the rolls as no further record of him exists. The next surviving muster roll for Company E is that for the period March & April, 1863 and he is not listed. He could have been dropped for discharge, disability, capture, death, desertion, transfer, etc.
