The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

The following quote came from a post on the Arkansas Toothpick and I an woundering if any one knows the source?

"As of this week one hundred and fifty years ago, Arkansas boasted of 29 militia regiments, 13 of which mustered into service since the Little Rock Arsenal Crisis in early February, 1861, leaving only 8 militia regiments to muster between late March and June, 1861."

When the Militia Law was ordered printed in 1860 by Governor Conway, there were 62 regiments on the books. By 1862 there were a total of 71 regiments listed in the "List of Commisioned officers of the State Militia 1827-1862"
