10th(Witt's)Arkansas Cavalry Regiment Company D

I believe my great-grandfather, James M McClure served in this regiment. He is listed as McClure, J.M., 1Lt Age 24, Enl at Clinton, AR born in Mo. He married in 1863 in Randolph Co,AR and he is also listed in the 1870 census as living in Randolph Co. AR. However, the information given for this Cavalry Regiment said that most of the boys came from Van Buren, White or Conway Co. Is it possible that boys came from such places as Randolph Co too? The age is a little off as I calculate his birth date around 1837. However, he had a brother, Thomas McClure, born 1848 and listed after J.M. McClure is a McClure, T.H.B. Pvt age 18 Enl at Clinton, Ar, born Mo. This birth date more or less adds up and my relations were both born in Missouri. Can anyone please offer me advise as to how to get more information about these two men who served in the Confederate Army? My e-mail address is Dede.Muhler@comcast.net if anyone has information or suggestions for me. I am quite new to genealogy research but I am most impressed with this web site. Thank you for all the work that has helped so many people learn about their relations and understand history more. Sincerely, Dede Muhler
