Information on W.P. Taylor

I am looking for information on a W. P. Taylor or a W. T. Taylor. Matt Rothert's book says this note was issued by a W. T. Taylor and it sure does look like W. T. Rothert further notes that W. T. Taylor ran for sheriff of Washignton County in 1860 and was defeated by a George Gibson. Goodspeed and other documents show that George Gibson was indeed elected sheriff of Washington County, Arkansas in 1860 and defeated a W. P. Talor.

I have not found anything on a W. T. Taylor in Washington County. I have found a number of William T Taylor in other counties but they don't appear on the surface to be the same person.

I did find a W. P. Talor in Pike County that was born 1-3-1845 and served in the 3rd Georgia Inf. but that would not have placed him in Washington County at the age of 15 in 1860 running for sheriff. I assume this is not the same person.

Any information is appreciated.
