Young, age 25, enlisted as a Private in Captain Hamiter's Company, 19th Arkansas Infantry* October 30,1861 at Rocky Comfort, Sevier County, Arkansas, appointed Teamster April 3, 1862, captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, January 11, 1863, sent to Camp Douglas, Ilinois Prison Camp, paroled April 2, 1863 and delievered to City Point, Virginia for exchange April 10, recorded on September 1, 1864 as absent, detailed to drive wagon, no further records

James H. Young, age 17, enlisted as a Private in Captain Hamiter's Company, 19th Arkansas Infantry* October 30,1861 at Rocky Comfort, Sevier County, Arkansas, captured at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post, January 11, 1863, died at Camp Douglas, Illinois prison camp, February 25, 1863
