Thanks, Bill. I used to enjoy driving around the State and looking at sites that were once historically prominent for one reason or another. The big killer of those (now) wide spots in the road was the railroad. The town of Washington is a good example of what being bypassed by the railroad can do. Jacksonport is another neat place to visit, although its decline was due, as I understand it, to the vagaries of the river.
