Some of us know a little more than others about scrip notes issued in Arkansas during the CW but none of us are experts. Rothert did a good job cataloging the scrip but did not provide a lot of details on the individual issuer which is one of my goals. Having been born, raised and lived in north Arkansas and north west Arkansas, I am primarily enterested in just the northern/northwest counties.

Some issuers are easy to find with a lot of detailed information. Others you can find general information but not a lot of detail. Others, like H.L. Wilson - nothing. Since the note was issued in Yellville, Marion County I started there. Nothing. I did run across the H.L. Wilson merchant in Dardanelle. It could be the same person and might not be. Since I found nothing in Marion County, I figure I'll turn my attention to this one if nothing else just to rule that person out as a possibility.
