Good for you and your son. I also did the hike several years ago. My GG Uncle Cpl. Jasper Massey was in Co. B, 8th Ark. He was killed on the first day of battle April 6, 1862 most probably at the "Hornets Nest" The National Park Staff at Shiloh is well informed and helpful. Great trip
