I'm going through the heads of regiments at Prairie Grove that aren't in my book, "Confederate Colonels", and doing bio research. Lt. Col. William C. Adams of the 38th AR I identify as William Carroll Adams, Capt. Co. E, 1st AR Mounted Rifles 6-9-61. WIA Wilson's Creek, and resigned 3-17-62. Lt. Col., 38th AR, 8-2-62. Taken prisoner near Evening Shade, AR, 2-4-63. No further record. He was born 1-5-1819 Giles County, TN, died 5-22-1888, buried Hardy Cemetery, Sharp (earlier Lawrence) Co., AR. A Lawrence/Sharp Co. farmer, twice married.
