The preponderance of evidence that I have seen points to measles as the principal disease that ravaged Camp Nelson. I believe Dr. Becton mentions measles in his correspondence. I'll have to go back and take a look to be sure. Of course, dysentery, typhus, and various other "fevers" were likely contributors.
