Mark, Asa S. Morgan’s Battalion, later the 26th Arkansas Infantry, served at Fort Hindman, Devall’s Bluff, in the summer of 1862.

I also noted on the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission website that the 26th was credited with participation in Devil’s BackBone, Little Rock, and Jenkins’ Ferry. Actually, that regiment was not involved in the fall of Little Rock. At that time, September 10, 1863, the 26th was in retreat following the Battle of Devil’s Backbone.

In addition to Devil’s Backbone and Jenkins’ Ferry, the 26th also participated in the Battle of Prairie Grove. In spite of the fact that it served as reserves for McRae’s Brigade, the regiment suffered several casualties due to cannonading.
