Looking for information about John Wycliffe Shoptaw. He was killed during the Civil War. He served under Capt. James Russell. Co.F, 3rd AR Batt. C.S.A. He died Aug. 14, 1867. The information we have says he died at the seige of Vicksburg. However, he is said to have died at Shiloh. Since no one knows where he is buried we conclude that he is buried in an unmarked grave. Any information would be appreciated.
