Seeking information about the possible confederate service of my GGUncle, James Marion Cox, b. 1837 in Alabama and believed to be living with his parents in Arkansas in 1853 when a younger brother was born in Arkansas. James Monroe is listed with the George A. Cox family in the 1850 census in Water Valley, Mississippi; but is missing from the family in the 1860 census in Pickens County, Alabama. It is possible he stayed in Arkansas when the family moved back to Alabama in 1855.
