In June 1862, a Major Platosz was in temporary command of the battalion that eventually became Morgan’s 26th.

June 14, 1862
Special Order #4. Army of the South West-
Capt Morgan is hereby assigned to duty as Lt Col and Capt F. P. Yell as Major of the Battalion lately commanded by Major Platosz, to take rank from this date.
Major Platosz is relieved from duty as drill officer of Col Morgan’s Battalion and will report for duty to Gen Roan.
