The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Granville Wood, 33rd Arkansas

Thanks Doyle, this lets me know I have the wrong Mr. Wood. The Wood I'm looking for died in MS during the Civil War and his young widow, Sallie, went to MS and returned with his remains. Along with 9 more Confederates who were buried in a mass grave with him. Some believe his name to have been William C. Wood but I've found no record of that man either.

Sallie and these soldiers are buried in Old Union Cemetery in Ouachita Co., AR. Sallie's family were early settlers of Lafayette Township, Ouachita Co., AR. Sallie's brother, Porter Oglesby, fought in the 33rd and I was in hopes that Granville Wood was her husband.
