Using my knowledge of my own kin, they were living comfortable for the times in 1860 trading in property,
going back east to visit the kin, and raising fairly good cotton crops while farming some of the best land to be had.
However, those same people who lived through the Civil War in Arkansas were flat broke by 1865 losing
their property for taxes, etc. No money not for even salt.
My kin who moved into the state from places like Tennessee and Georgia were rich complared to those
who rode the war out in Arkansas.
