Some where along the way I have LaFayette Gregg of Fayetteville once a Colonel of the 4th.

He is credited as one getting the University into Fayettville, also sat on supreme court, was Univ trustee when Col O C Gray (Capt, 3rd Ark Cav, CSA) was hired away from being president of St Johns' College following Brooks-Baxter War.

He and Gray were responsible for Fayettevilles 1st public school being built, Washington, where Gray became Supt and had Ella Carnall and 1st female student at Univ, Anna Putman among its instructors.
