The following is from "Dictionary of Transports and Combatant Vessels Steam and Sail Employed by the Union Army 1861-1868." There were 3 vessels named Blue Wing.

Blue Wing was hired in January and February 1865.

Blue Wing #2 was seized from Confederates 16 Dec 1862, fired on from the banks of the Arkansas River 28 Dec 1862, surrendered, and was burned. As stated elsewhere in the thread it lead to the assault on Ft Hindman.

Blue Wing #3 was chartered in June 1865.
