Battle of Moscow dedication

There will be a dedication of a wayside interpretive marker for the Battle of Moscow tommorrow on Thursday, May 24 at 10:30 am at the old Moscow Methodist Church just south of Prescott, Arkansas. The Battle of Moscow was a rearguard action fought by the Union Army as it left the Battle of Prairie D'Ane (April 10-12, 1864) and moved through the Moscow community on its way to Camden during the Camden Expedition of 1864.

To reach the Moscow Methodist Church and the ceremony take Interstate 30 and head into Prescott. Stay on Highway 24 into Prescott, cross the railroad tracks and stay on the highway (now Main Street). Turn right at the Reddie Mart onto County Road 23 (Cale Road). Follow this road out to the site. The church and cemetery will be on the right.

This event is being sponsored by the Nevada County Economic Partnership.
