Mr. Holbrook, you should get a copy of the book "Civil War Arkansas: Beyond Battles & Leaders". The book as a whole is excellent, but chapter 8 deals with the Williams family, a family of Unionists that lived near present day Center Ridge. Among other things they scouted for the Union army who occupied Lewisburg, south of Morrilton. Lewisburg, located where hwy 9 crosses the river, was a major post for the Union army.
Another Civil War spot of interest in Conway co. would be Springfield. It was used as a campsite during the war at one time or another by both armies. I hope this is of some help to you.
