Their first son was Major General Carl Raymond Gray, Jr. Harry Truman's Admnistrator of Veterans Administration, their third son, Doctor Howard Kramer Gray operated of Jimmie Roosevelt in 1938, The father Carl was vice-chairman, Union Pacific RR., and mother Harriette Flora Gray, elected 'American Mother of 1937'. Generals Price, Cabell, Marmaduke and others 'broke bread' with Mrs O C Gray, and others in Princeton, Ark before leaving on their ill-fated, 1864, Missouri-Kansas journey.
