Does anyone know anything about Pittsburg Landing, in Johnson county on the Arkansas river. I've heard there was a button factory there and a small battle or exchange by union troops who landed in boats and attacked the small settlement. I've seen the name "Pittsburg" on Arkansas civil war maps but nothing is ever listed about what happened there. I lived just north of there in Lamar and very little was known about the button factory. The chimney for it is still visible on the river. It is 30 feet high and dry stacked. I'd appreciate any information.
