Im having trouble finding any information on col. shanks but i do think he is my great great grandfather. He didn't go to texas. I believe him to be burried at Lonejack Missouri. His grandaughter (my grandmother) said that he led his men even though he was gravely injured with an arm shot off. Im still doing reasearch and hope to find more. If i do i'll post it.

Hey could it be possible that bloody bill anderson was a good friend or relative of col. shanks?
I also have andersons in my family, and they resembel pictures i've seen of him. (lol) just a thought.
