Then your folks were in the same regiment as mine, William Reeves/Reves and the Wiles Brothers, Samuel is mine. At Prairie Grove they were position just behind the Borden house and cannon, as the battle raged the Confederates under Hawtorne soon to be Cockes the 39th Ark Inf. Counter attacked and retook the cannons from the Union. Company K lost their Captain and three lt's with the 1st Lt. being injured but was able to recover. The others died.

The 39th under Cockes also distinguished itself at Helens on Graveyard Hill where the drove the Yankee advance back until it quit coming that way.

You and I can stand up proud for our ancestors they saw the Elephant and petted it,,,,LOL
