Borland left the service in January after a set-to with Gov Rector of Arkansas over Solon's order to prevent foods from leaving the state, steming inflationary costs, claiming his poor health as his reason for leaving the service. So its my understanding he didn't leave Pocahontas with the regiment which he formed, instead, returned to Little Rock where wife and daughters were then living. Source AHQ, XXXXVII 1978, "The Martial Law Controversay in Arkansas, 1861-1865" by Leo E Huff in which, page 149 goes into detail about this 'political problem'. one of very few lost by Solon.
