Aaron Sylvester Davis

Aaron Sylvester Davis was the brother of my g-grandfather. He was living on his father's farm in Ouachita County, Carouse Township in 1860 when he was 14 years old. He was born in Mississippi, and probably still had relatives there. His name was listed as Sylvester Davis on the 1860 census, so he may have effectively discarded the name Aaron because he didn't like it. Sylvester's father was still farming in same township in 1870 census; Sylvester married in 1868 and was on the 1870 census one page away from his father's household.

I have found three candidates on Ancestry.com civil war records that might be him:

Sylvester Davis, Private, I Co., 33 AR Infantry

A.S. Davis, 2 Lt, B Co., Shubb's Bttn, State Calvary, MS

A.S. Davis, Private, I Co., 7 MS Infantry

Are there any records existing that would help determine if one of these Confederate soldiers could by my relative?
