You can order Missouri Confederate service records from -- Director, Records Management & Archives Service, Secretary of State's Office, P.O. Box 778, 1001 Industrial Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65102

The microfilm roll number is 63. You should make the request using the name of record (with correct name in parentheses next to it).

The record should consist of one abstract card, covering information from the Jacksonport parole list. This should give you his age, birthplace, place of enlistment, and physical description. Sometimes they state his civilian occupation, and whether he was a volunteer or conscript, but not all regiments recorded all of this.
