Hello all:

Can anyone illucidate what happened to the 18th Alabama at the battle of Franklin, TN ??

One of my ancestors was William Abner (Red) Walker. He was a 1st Lt. in Co. F, 18th AL. He was captured at Franklin.
Then, he was taken to Johnson's Island, OH, where he spent the rest of the war. There is some evidence that he might
have commanded the company at Franklin. I have his CW photo.

My G-GF was Maston Wright. He was the 1st Sgt. in the same company. I can find no evidence that he was ever captured.
Just wondering why not ??
