In Response To: Foster's Battalion Cavalry ()

Not much here, but maybe a hint: one of the captured men is named Antony Foster of Foster's Battalion. A man named Antony Foster enlisted on Oct. 8, 1864, in Captain James L. Baxter's Company of Mead's Confederate Cavalry. When the regiment was later organized into two battalions, the 27th Tennessee and the 25th Alabama, Baxter's Company was part of the Tennessee battalion. Looking at the records of Mead's command, I see several men named Foster, but all are listed as privates. As I said - not much.
