He also applied for a pension in Alabama in 1914. Stated that he was 73 years old and had been wounded at Kinston, NC (Alabama Dept. of Archives and History) http://www.archives.state.al.us/civilwar/soldier.cfm?id=67034

Archives also show that he was first in the 6th Alabama Infantry Regiment (Waddell's Battery).
