Alabama troops and the lost CSA treasury

While visiting the ADAH in Montgomery, Alabama an exhibit caught my eye in their museum.

Since I only read period books or authors who were in the war my knowledge bank is sometimes lacking in areas. In my opinion the last mention of of the Confederate treasury was at Washington, Georgia.

At the museum two former Alabama soldiers stated they had been paid off at Washington, Georgia but I was not planning on taking notes at the museum and do not remember their names or units but they were noted at the exhibit.

One soldier was paid $25.00 in sliver dollars and donated 11 of them after the war to the museum. And one solider donated 1 silver dollar to the museum after the war.

These 12 silver dollars and the names of those who donated them are on exhibit and what was interesting to me was they were all Mexican silver dollars.
