It appears his 24th Alabama was loosely organized during his brief tenure.

T. S. Moore, Private, Company L, 24th Battalion, Alabama Cavalry,* enlisted August 30, 1863 at Lowndes City,, Ala, by Lieut. Dilbun for the war, reported absent without leave September 29, 1863 remaining so on the books through June 30, 1864, no further records

Note, there are no further Company L or B muster rolls in the records

* This company subsequently became Company B, 24th Battalion Alabama Cavalry

24th Cavalry Battalion was organized in February, 1864, with three companies. It was chiefly composed of youths and served in Wheeler's Cavalry Corps surrendered with the Army of Tennessee.
