There is not a lot to be found, but here is what is in his record:
Robert German enlisted in Co. K, 2nd Alabama Reserves (63rd Infantry) 8 Oct '64, in Coosa County by Capt Hancock, for the duration of the war,. There is a card in his file stating that he was hospitalized for debilitas at the 1st Mississippi CSA Hospital in Jackson, MS from 3 Mar to 4 Apr 1865. However, please note that they were still using old forms, and that this hospital had actually been relocated to Shelby Springs, Alabama, well before this date. The only other card shows that he was paroled by Brev. Brig. Gen. M H Chrysler on 3 Jun 1865 in Talladega.
