George, I'm new at genealogy, is the info you found concerning B.F. Briggs from his service record? I did see where ancestry.com has something called Fold3. What do you think about this site, have you used it? B.F. Briggs had two brothers that would have been old enough to fight in the war but I have not been able to find much info about them. George W. Briggs was only 12 when the war started but maybe he fought before it was over. I found 2 George W. Briggs, one was a surgeon so that leaves only one in the 8th Regiment Alabama Cavalry (Hatch's) . Then there is his older brother, James H. Briggs, he was 26 in 1860 so it would seem that he would have fought but he was not on the The Civil War (U.S. National Park Service). I sure appreciate your help.
