William Allred does not appear in my books on Cullman and Blount County Confederate soldiers. He was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Crane Hill in Cullman County. That area was in Winston County before Cullman County was created. If he lived in that area during the war, it could be he remained loyal to the Union and in some way participated on that side. I don't have those records. Recommend looking at Fold 3 for his service record.

Many other Allreds from Blount (and Cullman) County served the Confederacy.
