The assault at the Railroad Redoubt on May 22, 1863 involved Maj. Gen. Stephen D. Lee with units consisting of the 20th, 23rd, 31st and 46 Alabama along with Dockery’s Arkansas and Waul’s Texas legion,. I could not ID a Cooper among these units who died about this time.
