David , if you look a map of Mobile . Interstate 65 going North from Us 98 to east of I 65 there is Three mile Creek , traveling between Us 98 and Us 45 , the camp should be around Cotton street and Mill street . Now since that time the area has changed .Us 98 runs into Spring Ave . Now if go east to USA Women and Children Hospital , which used to be outer defenses of the City Of Mobile . I seen relics or should Artillery which were uncover in the 1960s . This is best that I remember , but I live in Mobile. I hope this helps.
