May I ask for you to be on the lookout for one, John L. (Luther) Martin of the 1st Missouri (Dismounted) Cavalry, Co. H. We was captured at Vicksburg and was on a hospital ship, at the time of the surrender. He apparently died shortly after capture from illness and was either buried at Vicksburg or may have been transferred to the Grand Hotel Confederate Hospital at Point Clear, (Mobile) AL and is among the unknown buried in the Confederate Cemetery there.
