Was delighted to find in the Alabama State Archives and article in the Greensboro Beacon listing the dead and wound from the battle of Gaines Mill and L.L. Britt was listed as wounded bearing out his son's story of his dad being wounded. His official CSA records make no mention it and we were ready to chalk it up to a bad memory, as L.L. Britt's son was over 100 years old when he recounted this story.
