Ida Burke Evans, daughter of R. W. Burke and wife, Julia Guice Burke, was the great-grandmother of my husband. I have been searching since the early 1990s for information on Mr. Burke. Today I stumbled across your messages from 2011. The only positive information I have on him is his death posted in the family Bible. It reads: "R. W. Burke departed this life May 28, 1862 aged 28 years 9 months and 8 days.'
