You really need to use The Uncivil War, Union Army and Navy Excesses in the Official Records by Thomas Bland Keys. 1991 The Beauvoir Press.

143 pages, 20 Chapters, with a total of 100 plus atrocities or outrages by the Feds and each is documented, mostly from the ORs, but a few other sources here and there. There are about 530 notes on the sources. Also has a well done index. I see Alabama listed on 24 or more pages. What could be cooler than using the ORs to document Union outrages !!! Like catching a rat in his own trap!!!
