Hiram McSwain

Need some help in verifying a Confederate Headstone in Heard County, Ga.
The stone inscription reads, Hiram McSwain, Co. E, 26th Ga. But after looking on Fold 3 I found only 1 page under H. McSwain, and 9 pages under Alexander McSwain, who did serve in Co. E, 26th Ga. According to VA records the stone is supposed to be in a Carroll County, Ga. cemetery, but I cannot find any listing in Carroll County for his grave.
But there are pension applications from both Hiram and his wife from Heard County that states he served in Co. A, 6th Al. Cav.
Supposedly Hiram was born in Dale County, Al. in 1829 and he joined the 6th Al. Cav. in Meriwether County Ga. in April 1862.
I cannot find anything on him in an Alabama unit, Does anyone have any information on his service in Al.?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Tom
