The Alabama in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Lauderdale Rifles' Adventure in East TN

Sorry 'bout that, yall.

Two apologies: I really didn't mean to send the second post. I was going to add a caveat on the original story saying that even if it was about the Lauderdale Rifles from MS, I could probably get by with posting on the Alabama board. I forgot to add it until after I had posted original tale. I was sitting here writing a second post, but then decided to heck with it. Yet, somehow managed to hit post. Oh well, I know I'm not too swift on the uptake.

Apology two: I've been strung out doing some research for a couple of people, and have been ignoring the board.

I very much appreciate yall's input. Mr. Martin can always be counted on to bring some knowledge to the table concerning the matters at hand, and as I told him recently, he is appreciated. To have a man of Mr. Bryant's stature notice my scribbles and comment on same (as I told him recently, also) never ceases to amaze me. Once I come across material concerning a soldier, I always try to find out a little about him. Thank you, sir, for posting about William Reeder. As for Mr. Alan Pitts, I long have had a great deal of respect for him on several levels, as I've told him a time or two, albeit some years back. Mr. Pitts, although I've never actually met him, is among my favorite pieces of sitting up mud (as in "What interesting other pieces of sitting up mud I've met."... Kurt Vonnegut).

Regards & Thanks to all,
Hoyt
