Mr. Cagle,

That will do it! It is W.S. Reese who was company commander of Company "E" and 2nd "G," 1st Alabama Cavalry. His Compiled Military Service Record (CMSR) has a lot of documents during that time period and after as him being the commander of Wheeler's Escort.
