The Evening Telegram (Philadelphia, PA-28 Dec 1864) has an interesting account of the action around Towaliga, GA during this time. However, on the 17th of Nov., it merely mentions they camped on the banks of the river, with no mention of any action.

As usual, Mr. Pitts is on top of it with his quote: "there's no reason I can see that it should be trusted or regarded as authentic."
