No record of this being an AVC company, so we might wonder if the company entered service with any uniform at all. Many did not.

Most early war companies (first six months of 1861) had been accepted in the AVC. Those organized after Harpers Ferry and before secession or shortly thereafter were expected to wear the standard AVC uniform or a modest variation of it. State Archives lists 180-190 companies that organized through May 1861 under the AVC law. Some merged before entering Confederate service (example: Northport Rifles and Tuscaloosa Rifles merged to become Co "G", 11th Alabama Regt.).

The name "Phenix City" dates from 1897. That's when the state legislature officially changed the name of the town opposite Columbus GA.
It was called Girard during the Civil War.

Downtown Phenix City area is the site of the last major fighting east of the Mississippi before the surrender (Battle of Columbus GA, Apr 16, 1865, most defenders being in trenches on the Alabama side of the Chattahoochee River).
