T.J. Berry, 42nd Ala. Inf., Co. I

I am trying to verify if a Pvt. T.J. Berry of Company I, 42nd Ala. Inf. Regt. died during the Siege of Vicksburg. The reason I am asking is that I am doing research on the 40th Ala. Inf. and have discovered a Find A Grave listing for a T.J. Barry buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg, Mississippi, date of death 08 June 1863, unit is Company I, 40th Alabama Infantry. The problem I am having is that I find no record of this soldier ever being with the 40th, nor any with a similar name. I do understand that many records are missing and have found documented proof of some soldiers that have no known surviving "official" service record. I do know that there was a T.J. Berry that served with Company I of the 42nd Ala. and I do know that during that time period they were in the same brigade as the 40th and at Vicksburg. I am 99% convinced that this is an error on the gravestone and this soldier "Barry" of the 40th is really "Berry" of the 42nd. If anyone has access to the records of the 42nd Ala., would you please take a look and let me know if T.J. Berry of Company I died at Vicksburg or if his records end in June 1863? This will put the question to rest as to who is actually in this grave. I do appreciate any information about this. I am trying to establish accurate records for all of the 40th that I can locate.
