Company A, Continental Artillery, Alabama State Artillery

This battery was originally assigned as Company K, 5th Alabama Infantry in 1861, 12 month Vols.

John Bell, Corporal, Company A, Alabama State Artillery, enlisted May 4, 1861 at Mobile, Ala. by Captain Ketchum for 12 months, sent to hospital at Knoxville, Tenn. October 26, 1862, severely wounded December 31, 1862 at Murfreesboro, Tenn. in the field at Cowan’s House, died at Mobile, Ala., January 24, 1863 of wounds received in battle of Stone’s River December 31, 1862

Horace P. Brown, Private, Company A, Alabama State Artillery, enlisted May 1,1861 at Mobile, Ala. by Captain Ketchum for 12 months, last recorded present at the February 24, 1864 muster

John Charles Buck, Private, Company A, Alabama State Artillery, enlisted May 4, 1861 at Pensacola for 12 months, last recorded present at the October 31, 1861 muster
